We have been collaborating closely with Wintersteiger for about a year now, in order to create a new way to prepare our skis for racing. The new machine now allows us to improve our preparation of racing skis up to World Cup level, as if by hand. Since we are of the opinion that precise edge finish and a flawless structure are the keys to a perfect racing ski, the Discovery 2 Race Edition machine is no longer located in HEAD's Racing Department, but has been set up in our shop. It is not only possible to set the angle electronically and progressively for the lower and side edges (deviation from accuracy of 0.02°); all the possible structures can now be programmed. Our structures can now be accurately defined – our edges are now unstructured.
